Happy Friday everyone!
Its hard to believe that the week is already over. All eight of our squads were able to complete all of the work at their job-sites. This week we had squads painting and roofing.
After a long final day of hard work we all came together for our Closing Celebration. During this service we celebrated all of the things that were accomplished this week. We recognized our Construction Captains, Squads Leaders, Group Leaders, and Volunteers, and everyone from Birmingham that helped to make this project possible.
We then worshipped together for the last time this week. At the beginning of the service we took some time to reflect on the week and how good God is.
Tonight Thomas, our wonderful speaker this week, read and talked to us about the woman at the well. He talked to us about how often times we are quick to judge others, but that the same God that saved each of us has also saved the people we tend to judge. Thomas ended the service by challenging us all to go from Birmingham and spread the news of Jesus Christ.
It was an amazing experience getting to see people who started the week out as strangers end up working together to repair several houses and to, more importantly, tell about the glory of God.
We were blessed in so many ways this week!
