Welcome to Birmingham, Alabama! We are very thankful that all of our church groups safely arrived here this afternoon. This week we have churches from North Carolina, Louisiana, Illinois, and Georgia. We are also excited about getting to spend time with people from the Serve 365 project that is going on at the same time this week!
We started off our evening with a fun-filled orientation. During this time the participants were able to meet one another. We had a room filled with songs, smiles, and games.
During our time of worship we began by singing several songs with our wonderful band. This week our speaker, Thomas Herman, read Ephesians 2:1-6 and John 3:16. He explained that we tend to filter our lives to impress the people around us, but that God knows the truth and we need to turn to Him in everything that we do. Thomas challenged us to really focus on God this week and he explained that if we truly do this, we will all be changed when we leave at the end of the week.
