Happy Monday everyone!

It’s been an awesome day today here in Huntsville, Alabama!

We started our first day on the work sites with a Great Send Off led by our Praise Band for the week, Kevin and Jordyn Boyer.

Even with the vast amount of rain, our squads worked especially hard to get a lot accomplished on their sites today. Several of them even used the rain as an opportunity to witness to those in the neighborhoods where they are working.

Tonight our speaker and PC Jeremy Jones spoke to us about how we need to have eyes like Jesus. Our scripture which was from Matthew 9:36 told us that when Jesus went into the towns and saw those who were being harassed and were helpless, he felt compassion for them, because He knew they were like sheep without a shepherd. When we do this like Jesus, we can see compassionately rather than selfishly.

We also learned that this week is not just about fixing roofs or painting, but that we are here to witness to the people in the communities that we are working in. The work we are doing here this week is not about us, or how we can make ourselves look better, but how we can witnesses to others that don’t know Jesus and how we can glorify Him.
