Happy Monday!
We have successfully completed an awesome first day on worksites in Juana Diaz! Our five squads headed out to the worksites for the first time this morning after a group prayer led by speaker, Brandon Roney.
The squads are all working on homes in Juana Diaz. While some are starting from the foundation, others are putting finishing touches on homes built earlier this summer. Charlie squad had a wonderful encounter with a nearby homeowner today. The woman saw the students working, and she surprised them by cooking lunch for them. She told them that a group had come from Ohio to build her church ten years ago, and she wanted to give back. Incredible!
Tonight, we looked at Matthew 9:36-29 with Brandon. We talked about the “Jesus filter”, seeing people the way Jesus sees them. He challenged us to be more aware of the people around us, loving on the people that we know and that we encounter.
