Happy Sunday everyone!

It’s been a great first day here in Knoxville, Tennessee! All of our churches have arrived safely, and are excited and ready to get to work tomorrow morning.

All participants are registered and have began settling in their rooms. After worship tonight, our squads got the chance to meet each other and chat while they assigned squad positions. Then they attended squad position training for medics, squad reporters, breakmasters, and chaplains.

Tonight in worship, our speaker and PC Shaun Greeson presented us with a message about how we need to remove or filters and be or true selves.

Our scripture tonight came from Ephesians 2, where we got to see the real depiction of who Jesus was. We learned here that we as humans cannot fix the problem of deadness in our lives, and at the end of the day we all have a sinful heart. In Ephesians 2:4, we read that even though we cannot fix our problems, Jesus can by His mercy and grace.

Shaun also told us that God has a purpose for all of us this week. Even though we are here to work and help others by painting, roofing, and construction, our true purpose for this week is to spread the truth with other through compassion.

As the day has come to a close, our participants have began settling down and getting ready to start their week tomorrow.
