Happy Sunday everyone!

It’s been a great day here in Columbus County, North Carolina at the Hurricane Relief project! All of our churches arrived safely, and can’t wait to get to their job sites tomorrow morning.

Our participants are all registered and settled into their rooms. Today our participants had the opportunity to meet their squads, assign positions, and attend training. During training, they learned how to fulfill the medic, chaplain, squad reporter, and break master roles.

Tonight our participants got to worship together, with their squads, led by the Greeson family. During this time, our speaker Brent Austin presented us with a message about our purpose for the week. He challenged us to remove the filters that we often put up so that others do not see us as we really are.

He also challenged us tonight to get to know the people that we will be working with this week. This includes church members, squad members, other participants, and the people we will come in contact with in the community. Brent also told us that we need to love one another and work as team this week in order to accomplish our goals.

If we love God and love one another, we will not only accomplish the work to be done on each job site, but we will also be able to reach others with the Word of God.

As the day in winding down, our participants have settled into their beds, to be well rested for the upcoming workday.
