What an incredible week it has been in the beautiful town of Jalapa, Guatemala. All of our squads finished up on their worksites today. Our construction squad went above and beyond on their site. They finished pouring concrete for the floor of the new kitchen area at the church yesterday, so today they mixed and poured concrete for a whole different part of the building. They have worked hard since Saturday to finish two jobs, and the hard work paid off.

Our ministry and medical squads finished up another day in a small community just outside of the city of Jalapa called Los Pinos. What a blessing it has been to provide care of so many people in this community and to minister to so many children this week. Our medical squad has seen well over 1000 people this week and our ministry team has put on VBS for well over 100 children each day. That’s a lot of dancing, crafts, and snacks!

Tomorrow is a much needed and much deserved day off for our group. Most of our group will be traveling to the town of Antigua just outside of Guatemala City to enjoy a large market, lots of restaurants, and the beautiful scenery of the Spanish colonial town and its cobblestone streets. Then it’s to the airport to travel back home. God truly has moved this week both in the lives of the people of Jalapa and in the lives of the students and adults here on the trip. It’s been such a blessing to work with and serve the COMMUNITY of Jalapa. Until next year!

Adios from Guatemala!
