Hello from Robbinsville!

Today was the first day on the worksites, and the participants were ready for action! This morning the crews went off to their roofs and paint sites with the staff outside cheering them on. All of the squads did a phenomenal job for the first day on the worksite, and a lot have gotten further than what they were expecting to. This is all due to the willingness of the participants to work hard and make sure that these jobs get done right.

After everyone came back to the facility, students got to hang out in the dining area and play cards while they waited for worship to start. What a worship it was! Michael did a fantastic job tonight, teaching us about 3 common mistakes that people make. He used the story of Elisha and the Syrian army in 2 Kings 6:8-23 to illustrate these points. He taught the participants that in this story, there is a person who wanted something so badly that they ignored all signs and common sense to get it, that there was a person who was so afraid of a problem, that all they can see is that problem, and that there was a person who wasn’t prepared for what they were given, and ended up almost making a bad decision. Michael reminded the students that in all three of these mistakes can be fixed by remembering one simple thing. God is already where ever we need Him to be. If we are scared of the future, God is already there. If we want something so badly, God already knows and knows what He will give us. After Michael spoke, he had the participants sit in three different sections according to what person in the story we identified most with. Then he had us pray that God would reveal His truth to us in regards to this situation. This truth stuck with the participants as they departed to youth group devotions.

Remember to send those participants you love some ServeMail. Also, make sure to follow us on Instagram,Twitter and Facebook  and Snapchat to see all the awesomeness happening this summer!
