Greetings from Savannah!

Today was the second day for our participants on the worksite, and boy was it a hot one!  They started their day an hour earlier because of the heat, but our participants worked so hard and diligently today, even in the extreme heat!  The rain today brought them back early, but they still got a day’s worth of work finished.  Several squads got really close to finishing.  Heat and rain can’t stop us!

Our speaker, Jon, focused on Exodus 1 and Exodus 2:1-10.  He mentioned that all of our stories are connected to an even bigger story, the story of Jesus and the story of spreading the Gospel.  Even if we cannot see past the immediate situation that we are in, we end up missing the bigger plan that God has for our lives.

One point that Jon expanded on was that we are all here in Savannah this week for a reason.  He talked about how one small action of ours can change another person’s life forever, even if we do not see the fruits of our labour.  He encouraged us to keep working hard and pray for all of the participants and our homeowners.

Jon assured us that, like the women at work in the first two chapters of Exodus, we did not have to important like Moses to change the world.  God has a plan and a purpose for all of us, better than whatever we have planned for ourselves.  Many students were encouraged and lifted up today.

The tailgate saw a lot of action today! Corn hole, checkers, card, and other fun and games brought a lot of the participants together, and we got to hear more than one awesome story about how God moved on worksites and in lives today.

Tomorrow is a half day at work, and another early start, but we have total faith in our participants to get as much work done as possible in just a few hours.  Some crews might even finish up their roofs.

Here’s to another great day at Mission Serve,
