Happy Sunday!

We had a great Sunday at the Wilmington project. Our squads got to worship at a variety of local churches and enjoyed great community with their squads visiting the homes they will be working on this week. After squad training and church group photos the camp enjoyed a fun-filled block party. Participants enjoyed water slide inflatables, corn hole, volleyball, snow cones, and a good ol’ fashion pig pickin’ for dinner!

This evening worship time focused on John 1 and the challenge to “Be the Light” for Christ not only on our worksites, but also when they go back home to their community. A really powerful moment happened during the worship time as strong storms moved through the area. At one point all the lights in the worship area went out except for the light that illuminated the cross. It was a powerful visual of John 1 that says the light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it.

We are excited to see how God works through the Mission Serve participants this week in the Wilmington community.
